MediaCircus editor-in-chief Alexandre Secco is a partner and the content director of Análise Editorial. He has majored in Journalism and Law. For more than 20 years, he has been working in the making of newspapers and magazines and has been through every part of a publication production, such as: covering stories for a big daily newspaper, editing weekly magazines, running a newsroom, and managing a communication company.
In Análise Editorial, a newscompany that publishes segmented magazines (read more about it here), Secco has developed and edited six different annuals: Análise Comércio Exterior, Análise Justiça, Análise Advocacia – Os mais admirados do direito, Análise Companhias Abertas, Análise Energia and Análise Saúde – Os mais admirados da medicina. Learn more about these publications here. Secco participated in the creation of the company together with journalists Eduardo Oinegue and Silvana Quáglio.
Secco also worked for two magazines in Editora Abril, Veja and Exame. In Exame, he was its executive editor and was responsible for many special projects. He developed the publications AgroExame and Exame Infra-Estrutura, which granted him the Abril Journalism Prize in 2005, in the Special Magazine Editing category. He also developed and edited the Leis&Negócios section, aimed at readers interested in Law issues.
In Veja, he was the editor for national issues, writing 32 cover stories and being nominated six times for the Abril Journalism Prize for articles on economics, politics and general subjects. In Veja he also developed the special edition Veja o Brasil que já é de primeiro mundo (Look at Brazil, already a first world country) and edited the Holofote section.
In the newspaper Folha de S.Paulo, he wrote about national affairs, technology and daily issues. He covered two presidential elections and was a politics reporter in Brasília. Secco also contributed for other publications in Abril, such as Claudia, Men’s Health and Viagem e Turismo.
He has developed and currently edits the blog www.mediacircus.com.br, a personal project that has the purpose of talking about media to people interested in media.
